Hi, my name is Sheri Keene. My brother-in-law Randy Harris was just diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. He has just completed the first round of chemotherapy this week and has five more to go, along with a gamma knife radiation treatment on his brain.
As many of you know, Randy was diagnosed with lung cancer last year. He received 6 rounds of chemo with 30 radiation treatments on his lungs. He lost about 30 pounds because the radiation fried his throat and he could hardly eat. Although he was left feeling beaten down physically, he maintained a positive outlook throughout this trying time.
Randy has been receiving immunotherapy treatments since September 2022. He was uplifted by the news in November 2022 that he was cancer free or in "remission."
Randy returned to normal life of part-time work, jet skiing, camping and hosting family and friends. We all love Randy's energy and strength that he has shown through this trying time. He is truly a testament that prayers are answered and faith is real.
Randy is also very proud of his sons and his grandchildren. Recently, he was able to attend the graduation of a grandson and the birth of a grandson. He looks forward to sharing as many memories as possible with his treasured sons and grandchildren. They bring him so much joy and he can't help but smile from ear to ear when talking about them.
However, Randy's latest scan has shown that the cancer has returned. It is stage 4 and is now in his brain, lungs, and kidneys. The doctors at Mayo Clinic have indicated that the cancer can be treated. Randy knows this is going to be even more difficult than last year but he is up for the challenge, especially knowing that his loving wife, Wendy will be there every step of the way.
Randy Harris is a positive force for anyone that needs encouragement, but now he is in need. Last year's medical expenses diminished their savings. Randy has Medicare but it doesn't cover the entire cost of treatment. Randy was also blessed with a Mayo Clinic grant but it has already been depleted by prior medical expenses.
I am asking for donations for Randy's treatments and the extra cost to travel the 75 miles to Mayo Clinic and all of the things that go along with fighting cancer. Any amount of money is greatly appreciated. All money will go directly to Randy Harris. If you can't donate, please leave an encouraging note to Randy. He would love to hear from his old friends, new friends, and future friends. One more thing, please share the link so we can reach as many people as possible. God Bless.
