Round 2 for Riggs: Fighting Lung Metastasis

As some of you may remember, Riggs Grooms (now 2.5 years old) was diagnosed with a rare cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma after a large pelvic tumor was found in April 2024. Many of you rallied with this family, helping them through chemo, surgery, radiation, and everything in between. For that, we couldn’t be more thankful—it means more than you’ll ever know. Riggs finished an (almost) year-long treatment regimen in February 2025, and his doctors were hopeful there would be no more cancer. Unfortunately, recent scans have brought devastating news. The cancer has metastasized to his lungs, and as of 3/26/25, they have also discovered another tumor in his left knee. Due to its rapid spread, Riggs is now considered Stage 4. On 3/11/25, he underwent surgery to remove nodules from his left lung, but the tumors on his right lung remain inoperable. His treatment continues for now, but his medical team is meeting on 4/3/25 to determine the best next steps, as this form of Rhabdomyosarcoma is proving more aggressive than expected. A longer, rougher, and more intensive chemo regimen began on 3/24/25. His hospital stays will be much longer, and this round of treatment will be even harder on his little body than before. The Grooms family needs your prayers now more than ever. Whatever you can donate will be a tremendous blessing, helping with immediate needs, including the astronomical cost of daily medications and the ongoing travel expenses of being away from home so often. These funds will allow them to stay afloat and keep their bills paid during this incredibly demanding time.
