Robert Rottweiler passed away on August 2nd from a very aggressive pancreatic cancer, a mere 3.5 weeks after his diagnosis. He was a beloved husband, father, pastor, mentor, coworker, and friend. He leaves behind his wife Jennifer, and his three children Kaitlyn, Joshua, and Jacob. His sudden passing leaves his family without meaningful income.

The intent of this fund is to ensure Jennifer and her family have everything they need to pay for any latent medical bills, prepare for funeral expenses, and cover their cost of living during the months it may take for the dust to settle before retirement accounts and life insurance can pay out. Grieving is difficult enough without the added layer of financial uncertainty.

Rob was known for his generosity at his own expense. He gave cheerfully and freely, and would never expect or accept anything in return. If you knew him, this likely affected you at some point whether it was him covering a restaurant bill because he had invited you out, or paying your rent for you when you were in a pinch. Rob and Sovereign Grace Bible Church were especially generous and hospitable to my church Redeemed South Bay by sharing their space with us when we first started. Years later, I would still drop into Rob’s office with little or no notice and always walked away encouraged by Rob that we serve a big God. By God’s mighty grace, Rob served and helped so many. Let’s help his family now when they need it most.

Update: The funeral service for Pastor Rob Rottweiler will take place Friday afternoon,  August 20th, at 3:30 p.m.  There will be a 2:30pm viewing prior to the service and a reception meal at 5:00pm.  The service will be held at Sovereign Grace Bible Church, 101 S PCH, Redondo Beach, CA 90277.  Please call the church office at [phone redacted] to leave a message if you plan to attend the reception, so we can have food prepared for you.
