November 15, 2021 Mary was diagnosed with a rare mucinous appendiceal cancer. In the 4 weeks since, she has spent 2 weeks in the hospital and undergone an extensive abdominal surgery for which the recovery time is expected to take 8-12 weeks.

Being self employed, this diagnosis and hospitalization has taken its toll on them physically, emotionally and financially.
