15th May 2024, Ross and his family’s lives changed and little did they know this was going to be a long and hard journey ahead.
Ross was diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer.
From here on Ross has undergone numerous rounds of chemotherapy with many challenges along with having a stoma bag fitted, then in late 2025 had the bag reversed and was given the all clear, without doing the proper testing
Later on that year Ross had then found the cancer had spread to lymph nodes and peritoneal wall making Ross now a stage 4 cancer patient.
December 21
Ross was admitted to Campbelltown hospital with a bowel obstruction and sent home
Dec 22
Re-presented to emergency where Ross was admitted
Dec 24
Ross went into surgery, got half way through where the surgeon then upon "advice" decided there was nothing else that could be done. When ross woke up the surgeon sat them down and told them there was nothing else they could possibly do, and to prepare his affairs for end of life
Little did Ross know that the surgeon had told this to kristy a couple of days prior and Kristy and the family had to try and keep strong in front of Ross for all this time thinking that they were going to loose him and that this was it , nothing could be done .
Kristy then did something that Ross will forever owe her for, she fought for Ross to get transferred to RPA, they came back a short time later and told us RPA had said send him straight here, dont stuff around, they were ready for Ross for surgery that night within a couple hours notice, transfers got delayed and it didnt happen that night but they got Ross to the place he needed to be, to have a chance to continue living
Dec 26
They got him into surgery first thing boxing day, the surgeons there worked an actual miracle, being able to perform a procedure that Campbelltown and Liverpool said was not possible or unwilling to attempt
Since then ross has been making daily improvements and as the perfect start to 2026.
With these challenges Ross now has a permanent stoma bag and this all has caused immense trauma and financial loss.
This will not be an easy road ahead for this family also with Ross being out of work indefinitely, to still have unknown rounds and of chemo and a surgery that will take 14hrs to complete and a 3 week minimum recovery in hospital after
Please donate anything that will help this family any amount would be appreciated.
