Have you ever heard of Anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis? It is a very serious illness that usually occurs in young women and is most often caused by ovarian teratomas. An ovarian teratoma is a tumor, usually benign, but its effects are far-reaching in the human body. What begins as a severe headache rapidly progresses to possible digestive issues, respiratory tract symptoms, and, within less than 2 weeks, psychiatric symptoms that mask the underlying issue and make it difficult to diagnose. These symptoms are caused by the encephalitis, or inflammation and infection of the brain.
My lovely, young friend and neighbor, Rosmey Hondares, is currently in the ICU at Jackson Memorial in Miami, with this rare and sometimes deadly disease. Two days before entering the hospital, Rosmey was informed by her employer that the company is going bankrupt, therefore it's unclear whether her health insurance will be viable for this hospitalization. Meanwhile, neither she nor her husband, Dio, who is self-employed, have been able to work. Both medical and personal bills are mounting.
Please join us in praying for Rosmey's recovery and consider donating any amount you can to help this devoted, young couple. Donations go directly to Diosberto Hondares.
