Rosita Kwan Memorial Fund

Rosita Yimming Kwan (施艷明) passed away peacefully in her sleep at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from lung cancer.  Rosita was born in Hong Kong on February 1, 1949 and came to the United States as a college student.  She graduated from Texas Woman's University with a degree in Occupational Therapy and dedicated her career and life to children with special needs.  Rosita was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed by many.

Rosita is survived by her husband, Henry; son, Samuel and his wife Annie (son Abel, and twin sons Jair and Phineas (who were born the day before Rosita passed!); daughter Stephanie and her husband Derek, and son, Simeon and his wife Nancy (daughters Selah and Jubilee, son Amos and baby due in April 2018).

For those of you who knew Rosita, you knew she was passionate about her relationship with Jesus Christ, her family and her love of God's children in need.  Until the end, she held true this lyric from her favorite hymn: Jesus led me all the way

Prior to her illness, Rosita and her husband Henry started an organization,  Oiktirmon Foundation, which means compassion and mercy in Greek and is inspired by the compassion God has for people who look to Him for help in their difficult situations.  The hope was that they would use this organization to help support orphan children and as a benevolant fund for ministers and their families, two areas that had much meaning to them in their adult lives and by which they hoped to "Make A Difference", one of Rosita's favorite sayings.

Though Rosita has passed, our family hopes to continue her legacy by bringing to fruition the dream that she and Henry started together and had hoped to work on together for the years to come.  In lieu of flowers, we hope you might consider making a donation to Oiktirmon in memory of Rosita, her life of service and commitment to Christ, and to the vision and dream she had hoped for the future.  If you are interested in making a donation but would prefer to write a check, please reach out to our family for a mailing address.

[Please note that Oiktirmon Foundation, Inc. is a registered corporation in Texas and we are in process of obtaining 501(c)(3) status with the IRS.  At this time, any donations to Oiktirmon will not be considered tax deductible]
