Hi, my name is Rosie, and I’m raising funds for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Borneo with Camps International. I’m really excited to be given the opportunity to support local communities with important conservation work.

Whilst there, I will be working with a team to improve the facilities of local communities, including helping to build school classrooms, constructing and refurbishing community buildings, and installing water storage systems.

I’ll be contributing to initiatives to help tackle deforestation by growing and replanting native trees, as well as learning how to safeguard local wildlife by visiting an orangutan rehabilitation centre and a Bornean sun bear conservation centre to learn about the work being done to protect these animals.

To help raise funds for my trip, I have a job with an events company and have been making crocheted items to sell at local craft sales. I’m also going to be doing a sponsored Ben Nevis climb in May.
