Rosie’s Beautiful Burial Fund

Hi all, my names Alisha and I am known as the crazy cat lady amongst friends and family. I am the biggest animal lover, especially cats and have now rescued 3 so far. My first baby Sugar passed last August from a heart murmur and since then I have rescued another cat Lily who is Sugars mom, and only a month ago, rescued Rosie who lived on the streets her whole life, then was in a home for almost a year that was not a good fit for her and she lived a miserable life until I finally heard about it and took her in. Rosie was a cat who would not let anyone touch her, her owners for the past year could barely pet or get near here, Rosie only had ever warmed up to one other person before, my friend Larke who originally rescued her from the streets. When I decided to take Rosie I planned to do a lot of work, maybe months gaining her trust but 1hr after her being dropped off, she was asleep in my lap making biscuits. It was a miracle, we couldn’t believe it. And since that day, she has been attached to me at the hip, cuddles so close to me I can’t breathe, plays chase with her tail, and tried her best to hang out with her new sister Lily as much as Lily would allow!

I had taken Rosie to the vet only a week ago to get a full checkup and make sure she was completely healthy and everything came back happy and healthy minus a few extra pounds she needed to lose haha

Well yesterday, May 22nd, I came home to Rosie having passed away on the floor near her food. I’ve never experienced something so traumatic in my life. I called vets, put her in her bed and drove around while sobbing trying to get to the closest vet to make sure there wasn’t anything else they could do. Sadly she had passed for sure. We have no idea what happened, no previous heart murmur or issues, and a happy affectionate silly cat. They say sometimes cats just show no symptoms and sudden death is fairly common in cats with heart attacks or other issues unseen.

A little back story to why I’m doing this go fund me… My kitty Sugar passed last August and I spent 6k at the vet trying to save her and when she passed the next day I spent 1.5k on burying her because I felt it very important to let her rest in peace surrounded by her fave toy, blanket, pictures and treats. I never started a go fund me or asked for money from anyone but now the time has come where I am hoping for any help I can on behalf of Rosie. It was extremely important to me that after such a short time with Rosie and what terrible life she had before coming into my life, that I buried her with her toy, treats and photos of her best moments so she can forever rest peacefully. I will be placing her by Sugar so they can be close to each other and I can go visit.

It cost $1295 for the burial and ANYTHING helps. I already paid for it so I could prove with a receipt and show everyone that’s where the money will be put back into but after multiple big expenses, it was time to ask for a little help.

Rosie had gone through so much in life and I’m so happy I gave her one month of pure love and joy that she probably never thought she would have. And she gave me so much in return.
