Rosie's 2023 NAPA Center Intensive Therapy
Donation protected
Hi, we are Theresa and Jon Miller, Rosie's mom and dad. We are asking for support to get Rosie back to NAPA Center in Boston. Rosie has previously been to NAPA Center 4 times, receiving a three-week intensive therapy session for 4 hours daily. The NAPA Center provides intensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy to children with neurological conditions. NAPA Center has the best team of therapists who work with Rosie to help her strengthen and build new neruopathoways; they help Rosie achieve milestones we never thought were possible. Rosie is scheduled to return to NAPA Center in Boston in May, 2023.
Rosie is a true miracle. She is 7 years old and full of life and love! Rosie was born with Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome) and with a hole in her heart. She had her AVSD heart defect repaired at 4 months old. During Rosie's recovery from surgery, she suffered two collapsed lungs and was placed on a life-saving device called ECMO. Rosie was given a less than 30% chance to live. During her critical stay in the hospital, Rosie suffered a stroke. Thankfully, Rosie survived; however, due to her stroke, she has many limitations. Rosie was diagnosed with bilateral Cerebral Palsy with significant left-sided impairments. Rosie needs outpatient therapy in order to learn to walk, talk and complete everyday tasks. Now that Rosie is school-aged, it is extremely difficult for outpatient therapy to be covered by insurance or through state-funded resources.
We appreciate any support to help Rosie access the care she needs and know this will help her continue to grow and thrive.
All our love and gratitude.
