Rosie-on her way to recovery from COVID

Hello! I am Sara Elizondo-Salinas, daughter of Rosie B. Elizondo.

July 29th, five days after bringing my newborn home, COVID struck our home. The week of August 8th both parents tested positive for COVID. What we thought would pass and keeping the mentality of "getting worse" before getting better, August 15th our worst fear happened. By the grace of God my dad checked my moms oxygen level, it was 77. Way below what a normal oxygen level should be.

She was admitted into the hospital later that day and spent 3 weeks, fortunately, on a "normal" floor.

On September 4th we unexpectedly welcomed her home. Our hearts were thrilled to have my mom back with us to help her heal and make a full recovery. She is now home on oxygen, receiving care from a home health nurse who comes weekly, and physical therapy twice a week.

Unfortunately, due to COVID, my dad lost his job last year. They reside with my husband, boys, and I. My heart is full having my parents with us. Due to my dad losing his job, the income he is receiving is being stretched to cover bills they already have. This does not include hospital bills, cost of her oxygen, or of her services coming to our home.

God has been by our side every step of the way and prayer has been our shining light. Family and friends have shown up for us in our very dark and difficult time. We will forever be grateful for the help we have already received.

I am creating this fundraiser in hopes of financially helping my parents to cover the cost of her services she is now receiving at home. Our number one priority is making sure she gets better.
