Rosie The Super Aussie Fund (goal met!)
I'm fundraising for Lindsay Kinney who recently lost her heartdog Rosie, a brilliant and beautiful Australian Shepherd. Late last night Lindsay brought Rosie to the emergency vet, thinking that she was probably overreacting and that she could likely wait until the morning to see her regular vet. The worst-case-scenario happened and they found that she was bleeding internally from a ruptured mass.
Lindsay bought the whole emergency vet clinic staff pizza, breadsticks and caffeinated beverages because, as she put it, "I was going to be a troublemaker". Rosie remain stable overnight and was rushed to her regular vet, who opened early for emergency surgery for Rosie. Naturally Lindsay also bought the Pet Crossing staff bagels and coffee.
During surgery they discovered that the damage was too great and Lindsay made the hardest decision that any pet parent can make and let Rosie peacefully pass onto the other side. Rosie was the light of Lindsay's life, her rock through some of the hardest years of her life, and her living heart.
Rosie joined Lindsay's family as the worlds most serious puppy and she grew into the most amazing companion, hiking buddy, training inspiration, film superstar, expert food critic, frisbee catching machine, and the absolute best friend that a girl could ask for. She protected Lindsay when Lindsay got them lost in the woods. She launched Lindsay's love for dog training. She licked Lindsay's face for well over a half an hour straight. She was a once-in-a-lifetime soul.
There is nothing that any of us can do to lesson the grief that she is going through but we can support her during this process. There are veterinary bills and other expenses that will need to be covered during her grieving process. There is no amount too small and even if you cannot contribute- we know that Lindsay would appreciate hearing your adorable Rosie stories.
