Help Rosie (4) get her hearing aids

Hi everyone! My name is Tiffany Waite and I have a four year old daughter named Roselyn (Rosie.) Rosie is the sweetest, most happy wild child you’ll ever meet.

When Rosie was born they did hearing tests on her and she failed on her right side. After running a few tests over the first year of her life, it was determined she was moderately deaf in her right ear.

Along the past 4 years, Rosie has gone through countless testing, different doctors, and different ideas to try and help her. One doctor even told us it was “useless” to try testing because she was so young.

On September 22nd 2023, we brought her to UVM in Burlington, VT. to have tubes put in her ears in hopes that that would help. As she was under anesthesia, Dr. Hubble decided not to insert the tubes as he saw no reasoning for it. There was no fluid or blockage and he did not want to put a foreign body in her ears if it was not necessary. While she was under anesthesia, another audiologist name Dr. Keyes ran a full scope of tests for her hearing. The result was not what we had hoped for. Rosie was now considered 87% deaf. She now has severe hearing loss in the right ear and moderate in the left. Dr. Keyes said hearing aides were her best hope at this point and she took moldings of her ears.

After finding an audiology facility that would take a 4 year old, we met Dr. Slatterly at Adirondack Audiology. She ran more tests on Rosie and confirmed she did need hearing aides. Unfortunately, she stated Rosie may be fully deaf by 30.

We are going to get through this but unfortunately, it is costly and health insurance does not cover the hearing aids themselves at all. The hearing aids are roughly $4,000. and we still owe lots of money for other hospital bills that have added up to $3,500.
