Help Roshea Walk and Live Her Life Free From Pain Again
Hi, my name is Jeni, and I have been friends with Roshea Tierney for nearly twenty years. I never imagined I would be writing something like this about her.
Roshea was always the vibrant one. The fun-loving, fiercely devoted mother of three. The friend who lifted everyone else when they were struggling. Full of laughter, kindness and unstoppable energy.
In just one year, her world collapsed.
First, Roshea lost her beloved mum, Carolyn, suddenly and without warning. Before she had time to even begin grieving, another tragedy struck. Her father, Malcy, was hit by a car while sitting on his stationary motorcycle. His leg was amputated. During scans, doctors discovered advanced, aggressive lung cancer. He was given only weeks to live.
Without hesitation, Roshea moved in to care for him. She became his strength while carrying her own grief. She held his hand through his final days and helped him leave this world with dignity.
After arranging her father’s funeral with her teenage son Paddy by her side, the unthinkable happened.
On the way home, Roshea suffered a catastrophic stroke.
Doctors initially said she would not survive.
But Roshea fought.
She survived, but at an unimaginable cost.
She was left blind in one eye, paralysed down her left side, living with constant, crippling pain and a significant brain injury. She now requires medication eight times every 24 hours just to endure the pain. She cannot walk. She requires 24-hour care.
As if that wasn’t enough, she later battled sepsis and E. coli. A Section 42 investigation found neglect by the very professionals appointed to care for her. Then, like her father before her, she was diagnosed with a large tumour and faced major surgery. She spent Christmas in intensive care fighting for her life.
And still, she is here.
The NHS have said they can do no more.
But there is hope.
Specialist consultants believe that an intensive eight-week residential rehabilitation programme, and potentially corrective surgery, could give Roshea the chance to walk again. To regain some independence. To live pain free. To move without fear. To feel dignity again.
This is not about luxury.
This is not about comfort.
This is about giving a good, kind, devoted mother a chance to stand on her own feet again.
Roshea is not someone who asks for help. She has always been the one giving it, even from her hospital bed she worries about others and the sick animals she has spent her life helping.
Her son Paddy, who stood beside her the day she collapsed, has shown strength beyond his years. But he deserves to see his mum smile without pain. To see her walk again.
I am asking, from my heart, if you can help in any way.
Every donation, no matter the amount, brings Roshea one step closer to walking.
If you cannot donate, please share this page.
Let’s help turn survival into recovery.
Let’s help Roshea feel the ground beneath her feet again.
Thank you so much for reading.

Dear Sir/Madam,
thank you for your inquiry.
I will gladly provide you with a rough overview, but please note that we can only provide a full estimate of the costs and the possibility of admission after we receive the needed medical information (report or similar). As this is the base for the medical assessment.
This being said, based on the information you provided, and the assumption that Ms. Tierney is able to do basic nursing task by herself (eating, brushing teeth, etc.) a 8 week inpatient rehabilitation program in our NRPM phase would be around 55.000 - 60.000 €. If Ms. Tierney needs a more intensive support by our doctors and therapy staff (NRPS phase), the cost would be up to 85.000 – 90.000€
Please note that this is not a final estimate but only to help you to get a better idea of the potential costs that are involved with the treatment.
If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Mit freundlichen Grüßen

Good day,
Thank you for contacting NYU International Services. We are very sorry to hear about Roshea Tierney’s situation.
Unfortunately, we do not offer inpatient intensive rehabilitation services. Our facility is an acute rehabilitation center, and in this case the patient would require placement in a subacute rehabilitation center.
If you are seeking outpatient services, we would be happy to assist you. Please let us know how you would like to proceed.
Best,
Jacqueline Ayala
