Meet Rosey Velez.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, he is a committed father, husband, and friend. He joined the United States Marine Corps to serve.
He brought that desire to give to his community back to his native NYC. Seeing a greater opportunity to play a critical role in his neighbor’s lives, Rosey became an NYS EMT-B, EMT-D & EMT -CC – he was one of the oldest students in his EMT class, graduating near the top! He then took his place on the streets of New York City and State, saving countless lives and impacting many more.
Serving in 94George, 94 X-ray, Diaz Ambulance, and cats kill rescue are just some of the units he worked. Through hard work and diligence, he became Chief of NYCRMS.
He was a Captain in September 2001 & was one of the first First Responders on the scene of the horrific and tragic events of 9/11.
He is the co-founder of the Emergency service respite center (ESRC) and a board member of the Military firefighter's Heritage foundation for over a decade.
He served as both board member & advisor to the Marine bulldog association, Army Sentinel foundation, Air Force Defenders association and many other charities. He has been a peer counselor and Chaplain to first responders and DOD members, active and retired, since 2005. Responding to numerous disasters (Katrina, Harvey etc.) Because of that service, he is disabled – yet courageous.
Rosey needs your help. He has been hospitalized since April and is not predicted to leave a hospital setting till February. He is facing major, life-threatening surgery and has significant bills not covered by healthcare.
Tragically, his wife of 33 years abandoned him six months ago, taking all his money and leaving him with insufficient reserves to keep household and other bills paid.
To make it, Rosey needs slightly more than $40,000, and that’s where you come in. As you look at your family, have good health, and enjoy freedom, remember people like Rosey helped bring that to you. Any help you send his way is appreciated by him and all those who love him. Please give.
