Rosette's Gall Bladder Surgery

Donation protected
Rosette is my daughter's dog, she's extremely close to this sweet little 15lb Bischon Frise. On Sunday March 24, 2024 we noticed that Rosette was unable to eat or drink without vomiting, was having a lot of gastric distress, was lethargic, and was whimpering in pain. We rushed her to an emergency vet clinic where they did blood tests and a quick ultrasound and said that her liver enzymes were elevated and they thought she might have a gall bladder mucocele and we should get a full abdominal CT at an animal hospital as soon as possible because she was at risk of having her gall bladder burst and may need surgery. We brought her home with us for the night. This single visit cost nearly $2,000. On Monday March 25, 2024 I took Rosette to the University of Minnesota Veterinary Emergency room because in order to get her an emergency/urgent abdominal CT I would have to go through the ER. They took her back, examined her and drew more blood. They determined that she did need an abdominal ultrasound and I made the decision to have her hospitalized over night to ensure that they could give her fluids and monitor her until she could have an abdominal ultrasound the next day. On Tuesday March 26, 2024 the vet called me and said that they did see what looked like a gall bladder mucocele and she would need to have surgery to remove her gall bladder. The new running total was now up to $9,000. Rosette did have the surgery on the 26th and at 7pm in the evening the vet called me to give me more information. She said that Rosette's gall bladder must have burst a few weeks ago (she never showed any symptoms of this) because her body had developed some adhesions over the gall bladder and there was bleeding and bile in her abdomen. They biopsied her liver and sent the rest of the gall bladder tissue for biopsy as well. This was the worst case scenario for her surgery...meaning this was the most expensive surgical outcome for gall bladder removal. She is still in the vet hospital and will hopefully be discharged on March 28th, however I have exhausted all of my current resources and unfortunately did not have pet insurance to cover this expense. Rosette goes to the vet regularly and has always been healthy and happy...it's been really difficult for my daughter to not have Rosette home while she's recovering from surgery and it's been really stressful for me as well trying to find funds to cover these expenses. I'm a single Mom...I rarely ask for help...I am maxed out on credit and savings at this point so any contributions to this fund will go directly to Rosette's care.
