Backstory, Easter Sunday was a beautiful day. Rose wasn't feeling 100% but she was smiling, laughing, and running around trying to find as many eggs as she could during the Easter egg hunt. She began to have a low grade fever which would come and go. By Tuesday April 2nd, Rose was very irritable, wouldn't eat, and couldn't get comfortable. Jesse and Nicole (Dad and Mom) took her to the ER Tuesday night and Rose was diagnosed with bronchitis and an ear infection. Rose was given a prescription for antibiotics and was released. Nicole quickly filled Rose's prescription and immediately started her on the antibiotics. Rose was still feeling icky but Mom and Dad knew she would feel this way until the antibiotics had a chance to start working. Later that evening Rose had become lethargic, cold to the touch, and clammy skinned. Jesse and Nicole immediately rushed Rose to the ER where Emergency staff quickly went into action. They hooked Rose up to IV's for fluids and attempted to get her warm. Shortly after, Rose had a seizure which stopped her heart. The medical staff were unable to revive her with cpr. We dont know what Rose's official cause of death is but believe she had sepsis/septic shock after piecing together all of her symptoms. We will know more information in weeks to come after her pathology report comes back.
We know friends and family have asked if there was anything they could do to help. We aren't asking or expecting anything but wanted to give those a platform to give a little something for Rose's end of life services, ceremony, and to help with the Porter-Mather's after loss journey.
We thank everyone for their kind words, gestures, and generosity during this hard and tragic loss.Rose touched so many hearts with her big smiles, hugs, and silly words.
