My name is Rosemary Cortez. On February 12, 2025 my life took an unexpected turn after being diagnosed with aplastic anemia-a rare and life-threatening blood disorder. In a short amount of time, I had to prepare myself for multiple hospital stays and various treatments that mainly included blood transfusions and chemotherapy prior to receiving a stem cell transplant in hopes of a cure to save my life.
To prioritize treatment and healing, I’ve put my plans and goals on hold so that I can continue to monitor my health and come back 100% stronger. Throughout this journey, I’ve shown incredible strength and courage. However, my treatments have severely weakened my immune system, forcing me to remain in isolation and preventing me from returning to work for the time being.
Through it all, I continue to face each day with unwavering faith and gratitude for the progress that I have made these past couple of months.
While my insurance thankfully covered a large portion of my medical expenses, I have been left with a significant balance that continues to weigh heavily on me during my recovery. Your donation-no matter how big or small-would make a meaningful difference in helping cover medical bills, follow-up treatments, and recovery needs. Your support, kindness, and generosity through this challenging time will mean more than words can express.
If you’re unable to give financially, your prayers, positive thoughts, and good vibes are just as valuable. Everyone’s words of encouragement mean the world and provide strength along the way. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for your compassion, generosity and support for me as I continue this journey towards a full recovery.
