My mom, Rosemary, is 70 years old and after 40 years of dedication to the State, like many other State employees, she was suddenly let go in July 2025. Just days later, she faced another devastating loss. Her eldest son, my brother Jontue, passed away.

She took on a contract delivery job to make ends meet. Now, that job is unexpectedly ending as well. The business was sold, and she has just 2 weeks before she is out of work again.

My mom is exhausted and under constant financial stress, and it is clearly taking a toll on her health. Since July, she has been carrying both grief and financial instability without a real break. Like so many people, she's had to keep working to survive, because her retirement is not enough for today’s economy.

This fundraiser is to give her breathing room (rent + bills), to allow her to stabilize while she searches for new work without the immediate pressure.
