Rosemary Richie DeSerio (72) passed away unexpectedly on June 8, 2020 in Oakland, CA surrounded by love and music.
Let us come together to honor the memory of this incredible person and all that she did for her family and community.
Rosemary is survived by her husband of 44 years Vinnie, by her children Patrizio, Emiliana, Mike, John, and Iris. She was an adoring Nonna to eight grandchildren.
Rosemary was a loving wife, activist, mother, grandmother, educator, neighbor, and civic leader. She ran Benvenue Children's House, a Montessori preschool in Berkeley for over 40 years. She was a champion for hundreds of children - deeply passionate about arts education as well as world culture, food, and social justice.
Rosemary led the under 7 programming at Cazadero Performing Arts Family for many years and served on the Board of Directors for Echo Lake Camp.
Join us in honoring Rosemary's life and legacy with a donation. This fund will be used to cover several end of life expenses and the remainder divided among the organizations closest to her heart: Benvenue Children's House, Cazadero Performing Arts Family Camp, and Echo Lake.
