Please Support Melissa's Fight Against Cancer:
I am one of two sons who have been raised by a loving, single mother. A mother who has sacrificed much in this world for us and deserves blessings, honor, and our support. I'm typing this message for that same, wonderful mom.
Melissa (Rosel) was recently diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. A trip to the Emergency Room due to abdominal pain turned out to be for much more than she bargained. In less than a week, her world was turned upside down when she was told that she had a tumor in her ascending colon. The doctor removed about a 3rd of the colon during surgery, taking the tumor with it. Later, a pathology report revealed that the tumor was cancerous and 33 cancer cells were found in a single lymph node. With these results, the doctor said that it was necessary to undergo chemo therapy as soon as possible.
Melissa spent a long, pysically and emotionally draining week and a half in the hospital between surgery prep and recovery. She is now on medicine to fight off pneumonia (which is common after surgeries). Chemo therapy begins November 3rd and is expected to last a minimum of 6 months. Between the time in the hospital and the time she will need for recovery, Melissa will be out of work, and without a paycheck, for at least 2 months. At the same time, she will be expected to pay high hospital bills for her surgery, hospital stay, medicine, and chemo therapy. In addition, she will have other monthly bills and everyday expenses to maintain her home, utilities, and food. All without a paycheck.
We are raising awareness of Melissa's current fight against cancer to request prayers and donations from anyone who thinks they can spare a little extra to support her in this battle. We understand that not everybody has the ability to give financially, and that's okay. We're not asking for anyone to go into debt. We are asking for you to pray and ask the Lord for wisdom in your decisions and consider what might be feasible. We at least ask for you to take a moment and pray for Melissa's good health to return, for the cancer to be gone quickly and to never come back, for her strength to increase during this time, and for no blood clots or other health issues during the chemo therapy. Please also pray that she will have the finances to pay for these expenses before they arrive.
