Rose Marie Smith's Car Accident Recovery

Hi, I'm Kim O'Connor, and I am setting up this fundraiser for my grandma Rose Marie Smith's recovery from a traumatic car accident. On June 10, 2022, one day before her 91st birthday, my grandma got into a severe car accident. She was taken by helicopter to a trauma center hospital in Tuscon, AZ, about 80 miles from where she was living in Sierra Vista.

 

Right now, she is slowly recovering in the intensive care unit, and we want to ensure that someone can always be by her side and support her in every way we can. At the moment, we do not have any family members in Tuscon. My dad has been at the hospital with her every day, and I will try to be in Tuscon as long as I can, My Aunty Lisa has also been here and it's a long drive.  My Aunty Fran was also in the accident and is recovering from injuries.

 

Fundraising will go towards hotel costs, transportation and any other costs related to family members being able to be by her side, as well as any other extra medical and rehabilitation expenses that are not covered by her medical insurance. Money will also go towards my Aunty Fran's care and recovery.  Any extra money will be donated to a charity for women and children of domestic violence.

 

My grandma has given so much her whole life, caring for children and always being there for her family. I want to ensure that she doesn't have to be alone during this traumatic and painful experience.
