May 27 Rose Dummar was diagnosed with AML, Acute Myekoid Leukemia. For those that do not know that is Cancer of the Bone Marrow.
She was life Flighted to Seattle from Anchorage to start the Chemotherapy treatments. 5 Days of Chemo 3 times a day, Four weeks of Clinic vists for Blood Transfusions and than another round of Chemo. If all goes as planned she will have a bone marrow transplant at the end of week 9.
She will be living in Lynnwood for the first 9 weeks ( Minus the week stay in Hospital) When the start the Bone Marrow Transplant she will be required to stay 4 months at the Fred Hutch Cancer Center in Seattle.
While She has Insurance, it does not cover Airfare from Anchorage for her husband Ray who has to maintain their home in ALaska. And all the things insurance does not cover.
This is a very stressful time and this fund is to allow her one less worry. While she Kicks Cancer Butt.
