Rose and Lois' Tough Mudder for SSAFA
Our 5k time may be below average and our strength levels are....in development, but on 11th May we’re taking on a 15k Tough Mudder. Why? Because we thought, “What better way to spend a Sunday than crawling under barbed wire and electrocuting ourselves for charity (and paying for the pleasure)?”
I (Lois) volunteer as a caseworker for SSAFA and have seen firsthand the difference their support makes to veterans, serving personnel, and their families. It’s serious, important work—unlike our training plan, which has mostly involved optimistic stretching and panic.
Rose and I both work at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, though not in any way that qualifies us for this. But we’re giving it a go anyway—armed only with determination, a sense of humour, and a shared delusion that this somehow sounded fun at the time.
Please sponsor us—whether it’s out of admiration, pity, or just to see if we make it through.
Thank you!
