Our mother Rose Aldama is currently hospitalized with life-threatening sepsis and is in need of your support.
After 32 years of nursing, she was forced to retire early with degrading knee health and Medicare has not yet kicked in. This 6-day hospital stay will be costly as it includes emergency surgery, infectious disease doctors, two ER visits, and an ambulance ride. Additionally, she will need at-home care upon discharge as well as further outpatient visits to address the kidney stone that caused all of this. She has no insurance at this time and we have no idea what the final cost will be, but we anticipate the expenses will be great given the magnitude of her illness.
Many of you know and love Rose as your beloved sister, cousin, neighbor, colleague, or mentor in the nursing field. If there is anything you're able to donate to support her through this unexpected medical expense, our family would greatly appreciate it.
