Hello, we are Trevor and Zineb, and this is our dog, Rosco, the sweetest boy you’ll ever meet. He just turned 12 on September 18th, and shortly after his birthday, he suddenly became very sick. It started with vomiting and refusing to eat for about three days. When we took him to the vet, they discovered two masses inside of him, one tumor in his spleen and another located somewhere in the lower abdomen. They gave him fluids and medication and sent us home with a special diet and feeding syringes, but Rosco still wouldn’t eat and soon didn’t even want water anymore. We knew he wasn’t going to make it much longer, so we rushed him to the ER.
At first, we were told both masses were tumors, but after surgery, we learned that one was an obstruction while the other is a tumor now being sent to a pathologist to determine if it’s cancerous. He had his entire spleen removed and part of his intestine.
Rosco hasn’t been able to eat for a full week, yet he’s remained so strong and resilient through everything. We know he wants to keep fighting and stay here with us. He had to be hospitalized and undergo emergency surgery, which has been incredibly costly. So far, we’re facing about $15,000 in vet bills, and he still hasn’t been discharged yet. Once he’s home, we expect additional costs for his recovery and ongoing treatment.
We’re doing everything we can to help Rosco get better, but we could really use some support. Any amount, big or small, will make a difference. Even if you can’t donate, please consider sharing this link to help us reach more people.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read Rosco’s story and for caring about our boy.
