Roscoe’s Story: From Rescue to Recovery
In December 2024, Roscoe was brought into our veterinary clinic to be euthanized. His previous owners could no longer provide the care he needed, and it seemed like his story might end there. But we saw something in him—a spark worth saving. I spoke with the family and asked if they would consider relinquishing Roscoe to me instead. They agreed, and Roscoe got a second chance.
Just weeks later, in January, Roscoe began showing signs of severe respiratory issues and symptoms consistent with Shar Pei fever. What followed was a long and emotional journey filled with uncertainty and determination. We’ve tried everything we could: multiple antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, lab work, diagnostic imaging, DNA testing, nebulization, acupuncture, and even a referral to an internal medicine specialist.
After months of testing and treatment, the specialist has recommended a CT scan and rhinoscopy as the next—and most promising—step. These procedures could finally give us answers and a path forward. But they come at a cost: $10,000.
Roscoe is more than a dog. He’s a fighter, a snuggler, a gentle soul who’s endured so much and still greets us with love. We believe he deserves every chance to heal and live the life he was meant to have.
If you’re able to donate, share, or simply send love his way, we’re deeply grateful. Every bit of support brings Roscoe closer to the care he needs.
