Hello, San Francisco community and beyond! About five weeks ago, my dog Rosco began limping on his left leg for no apparent reason. Of course, this prompted a visit to his Veterinarian at SF AMC.
After an initial diagnosis and an orthopedics exam with x-rays, Rosco was diagnosed with a ruptured cranial cruciate ligament and will require a TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgery. After his surgery, he will need six weeks of rest and an additional six weeks of physical therapy.
By the end of his surgery, the preliminary estimate is $8,400. His preliminary blood work and GoFundMe’s fees brings us to $9100. I have just begun working again (3 weeks ago), so my savings are depleted. Additionally, Rosco is my service dog, so if his knee isn’t treated, there is a high risk he will blow his other knee within the year. Even so, his surgery isn’t life-threatening, so he’s disqualified from many financial assistance resources. This has caused me to run in circles.
My veterinarian told me my best chances to pay for this are private donations, so I’m asking from the bottom of my heart for any help you can provide. Honestly, any help would be greatly appreciated. Of course, we plan on keeping everyone up to date (with lots of pictures) along the way.
Rosco and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts and paws.
❤️ Rosco & Kelvin
