Hi everyone!

My name is Priscila Martinez. I work for Worker Defense Action Fund. I work on Deportation defense campaigns across Texas. I was contacted about this case from the show de Polin and I helped with protests across San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and Laredo. I'm helping this family until Rosa María gets home. I'm in contact with Rosa María and her lawyers to ensure she receives the funds from here.

Rosamaria, who was born with Cerebral Palsy, has been living in the United States since she was just 3-months old. It was determined by Driscoll’s Children Hospital in Laredo that she was in need of an emergency gallbladder surgery, and she was set to be transferred to Driscoll’s Children hospital in Corpus Christi. CBP agents detained Rosamaria at the border patrol check-point, despite her traveling in an ambulance with a U.S. citizen family member.

Border Patrol agents were posted outside of Rosa Maria’s door at the hospital in Corpus Christi, and they gave her two options; sign voluntary departure or spend up to 3 weeks in detention.  CBP then followed her ambulance from Driscoll's Children Hospital in Corpus Christi to a Baptist Children's Shelter in San Antonio. This page is raising funds for any legal costs that may arise.
