Rosa Freile’s Funeral Expenses

Donation protected
Hi my name is Stephanie Karina, the niece of Rosa Freile. On February 13 2024, my aunt Rosa, fell in her bathroom and the paramedics were unable to open the door. Once the paramedics were able to get through they realized she was in bad shape. Upon going into the ambulance they realized she actually suffered a stroke. At the hospital they saw she had a traveling blood clot. They were able to remove only 80% of the blood clot. The next few days were critical but the swelling in her brain did go down and her heart was stable. However her lungs were not doing so well and she was intubated. After being intubated for about 8 days she got a tracheotomy which was followed by an endoscopy. After a month of being at University hospital she was transferred to an acute hospital to start her rehabilitation. In the acute hospital she was having difficulty weaning off the machine and then ended up getting pneumonia. She was transferred to the ER in Hackensack where they noticed her lungs were stiff and had fissures. Even with the hospitals best efforts and extreme measures she unfortunately passed on May 6, 2024. Writing all of this hurts me but she gave us an extra 3 months to be with her. We were very hopefully that she was going to get out of this and unfortunately we were not prepared for any of this.

My aunt was full of life and had a big personality. To know her was to love her. She was always smiling, laughing, and her favorite dancing. She showed us all that even in the most difficult of times theres always room for a smile and to crack a little joke. Not to take life seriously and have fun. She was the fun aunt for everyone.

Her 3 children are in Ecuador and have not been able to see their mom during any of this time. We are still hopeful that by any miracle they are able to obtain a visa to come to the US to say their final farewells.

I ask if you can please donate and help our family for my aunt’s funeral arrangements. It would mean the world to us. I thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and even considering donating.
