Hi, my name is Brittany, and I’m Rory’s mom.

Rory is just 16 months old, yet he has already faced more medical challenges than most people will experience in a lifetime. From the very beginning, our sweet boy has been fighting — and he continues to show us every day what true strength looks like.

Rory was born with a rare genetic mutation that led to hydrocephalus, and before his first birthday, he underwent two brain surgeries. We hoped those would be the hardest moments we’d face, but more recently Rory was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart condition along with airway compression that affects his breathing and swallowing.

Rory will need complex heart and airway surgery, including possible airway reconstruction. While we are still waiting on a confirmed surgery date and final location, there is a strong possibility that we may need to travel out of state — potentially to Florida — to ensure Rory receives the specialized care that is best for him.

This waiting period has been one of the hardest parts. Even without final details, expenses continue to add up as we prepare for travel, lodging, time away from work, and the many unknowns that come with complex pediatric care. Our only focus is being ready the moment Rory’s medical team gives us the next steps.

We created this GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden so we can focus entirely on Rory — being present, advocating for him, and supporting him through surgery and recovery. Funds raised will help cover:

• Travel and lodging related to Rory’s care

• Time away from work to be by his side

• Medical-related expenses and recovery needs

• Unexpected costs that come with specialized treatment

Rory is a joyful, resilient little boy who has already overcome so much in his short life. We are incredibly grateful for the love, prayers, and support that have surrounded our family during this journey.
