Rory & Emily’s Snowdon DofE challenge

Rory & Emily’s Snowden challenge!!

Hi all, thank you so much for taking time to read about why Rory and Emily wish    to use this platform as part of their DofE
challenge.

On Saturday 29th of August, Rory and
Emily will walk up Mount Snowden in aid of a charity very close to our heart.

In May 2018 Emily’s brother Aidan
sustained a near fatal traumatic brain
injury.
Aidan spent over six weeks recovering
from life saving surgeries in Salford
Royal, and is still receiving additional
input from a great many other agencies
as an outpatient to this day.

One of these incredible charities is
BASIC.

BASIC provides counselling, information and support services along with
pioneering virtual reality physiotherapy
for brain or spinal injury survivors and
their families.

BASIC have changed Aidan’s life by
supporting him physically and mentally
in some of his darkest times, which in
turn has also given hope to his family
that Aidan will learn to accept and move forward with his new normal.

This is also a fantastic physical challenge for Rory and Emily too, as they are also
going to climb it virtually by completing
the stair challenge prior to the actual
mountain - that means they will have to
climb the stairs 475 times!

We are incredibly proud of Rory and
Emily for choosing to incorporate such a worthy cause into a huge achievement
that is the DofE, and would be so
thankful for any donations to allow this
incredible facility to  support many more families to come.
