Rooting for Riley's Recovery

Many of you know Riley Travelstead of Milan, TN. She is the precious 13yo daughter of my best friend, Jennifer Easterday. Riley was born with several challenges as a baby that caused her to be non-verbal and unable to express her pain and discomforts in a way that we are all able to do. Yesterday afternoon (1/12/18) Riley began having seizures and hyperventilating which lead her to the ER in Milan. They later diagnosed her with stomach virus and sent her home. This morning at 12:30am I received a hysterical call from Jennifer stating Riley is back in the ER where she just experienced a 40min seizure. Upon arrival to the ER she was intubated and placed on a vent due to her blood gas results and inability to control her breathing. Her heart rate has been elevated in the 140-160 range.  After numerous tests they determined Riley was better suited for a larger hospital such as Vanderbilt or Lebonheur. They soon realized that due to the inclement winter weather that a life flight to either hospital would not work and had to endure the wait until they were able to send Vanderbilt PICU Trauma team to her. They were able to get her into Vanderbilt early this morning where numerous tests are being run to determine her issue. They have come to one conclusion, that she has a serious infection in her blood and are administering antibiotics.  Unfortunately when they begin to decrease the medications for pain she begins to seize. Riley is in desperate need of your prayers most of all and we appreciate the ones that you have already provided! 

Jennifer has never asked for help or money towards Riley medical expenses but as a mother, nurse and friend I know how overwhelming the money situation can be in a situation as this. I'm asking you to please consider donating any amount God puts on your heart to help them with medical and travel expenses. Jennifer does not receive paid time off from work and this could help in various ways for her family of 4.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
