Theo is our lil guy in the photo; he’s now approaching 7/8 months old. He’s a weird little man who we’ve very quickly come to love and accept into the family (he is the youngest of our 4).
As soon as we took him home it became clear he had some issues with his ear; we came to learn it was infected, and we got to work on trying to clear it with the vet, paying the bills required as we went.
Now, a few months later, Theo’s issues have grown; his ear refuses to clear up with medicine and cleaning; he has issues going to the toilet without the help of laxatives; he isn’t the size he should be at this age no matter how we feed him; and, most concerningly, he has begun to have the occasional seizure.
We’ve only had him a short period of time, and we have now used up all of our savings at this point; somewhere around the £1.5k mark, at least. As new issues crop up and the required investigations become more invasive/complicated, so do the costs; we are now at the point where the treatments and reviews are quoted at £700, £1.6k and potentially even over £3k. We are not currently in a position to keep this up at this rate, as much as we are trying and want to help him; and obviously, we don’t want to move to taking more drastic decisions like trying to rehome him since that would involve someone else being willing to take on the bills required, or, worse.
To summarise… We don’t have answer to what is causing him these troubles, and don’t currently have the means to make sure we can find out; we are also very aware that, even after these medical checks, there is potential we still won’t have answer; meaning more bills and more investigation.
I have no expectations for any support, nor do I expect any support to fully cover these expenses; however, if you can spare anything towards this, it would be appreciated beyond what I can describe.
Please do not put yourself into financial
strain to support this cause.
