ROOT & BRANCH Community for Reform
Nurturing a safe, inclusive and just Roman Catholic Church.

Since our inception five years ago, you, our R&B supporters, have enabled us to hold numerous events and to reach thousands of people worldwide. Our community brings hundreds of seekers together monthly or more; listening, searching, sharing.

We have held our own lay-led, international ground-breaking Synods, in 2021, 2023 with Spirit Unbounded and 2024, with over 20,000 website viewings. Head to our website, www.rootandbranchsynod.org, to view all our monthly guests, past and present, who share their lives so powerfully with us.

We ask; what does a fourth-century-modelled Church, patriarchal, authoritarian and imperialist, have to do with the teachings of a simple fisherman, carpenter and pastoralist whose followers met simply in their houses, praying, breaking bread and sharing the good news?

If you feel alone sometimes, wondering why no-one else seems to think like you; why women are so invisible to a male clericalism and why our children and grandchildren walk away, often in horror at the scandal of abuse, then head over to our website www.rootandbranchsynod.org.

And over all, please pray for a just, an inclusive and a safe Church where our focus is to listen for the quiet promptings of beloved Sophia, our Holy Spirit of wisdom.

How your donation is used:

We the Core team give our time voluntarily, often almost full-time work. But we must ask for your support to enable us to use video and Zoom, website and MailChimp and live events, to reach people. These tools can't pay for themselves. Every donation is precious!

To give the equivalent of a coffee every month - you've no idea how much this helps - just email us from our website, www.rootandbranchsynod.org

It’s you who enable us to keep the R&B show on the road.

THANK YOU!

About the organiser: Pam Perry

Pamela, wife, mother and grandmother, is a former Cafod key volunteer. As Administrator of London Jubilee, she was on the Boards of the Jubilee Debt Campaign and Make Poverty History and organised World Debt Day for Guildford. She has written about and worked with refugees.

Pamela believes now is the time for Catholics to call for the transformation of the unaccountable, hierarchical Catholic Church into a humbler, democratic institution, in tune with the simple teachings of Jesus and the loving power of the Holy Spirit.

Our inspiration is this magnificent Madonna by Elisabeth Frink, outside Salisbury Cathedral. She walks away from the building into the town - where all the people live, and where she is needed.
