The Root Cause Project CIC was established by veterans who deeply understand the unique challenges of military life and its impact on mental health.

With 8,000 veterans residing in North Devon, we saw that despite the best efforts of local services, they often struggled to create lasting change due to a lack of firsthand experience with military realities. That's why we founded the Root Cause Project—to provide a safety net for veterans and active service members.

We believe that genuine healing starts with open conversations, particularly with those who have shared similar experiences. By combining our mental health expertise with the restorative power of nature, we've created a space where our military family can access the support they need.

Every session costs us £60 per person to run and we are very grateful for every donation made to the Root Cause Project. It means we can support veterans at our sessions and continue to help break down the barriers surrounding mental health in the military.
