Room to Bloom: A space to grow for every child!
Do you want to join me in making a difference? Help us create a safe haven for children at Loxwood Primary School!
Our community is coming together to support a meaningful project for Loxwood Primary School: building a garden room dedicated to the emotional, mental health, and developmental needs of our children.
As parents of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), we know first-hand the urgent need for a calm, supportive space where children can feel safe, understood, and valued.
At Loxwood Primary, 15% of students have SEND, and many others face emotional and behavioural challenges that affect their well-being and learning. However, due to limited space, students in need are often without a quiet, private environment where they can receive the support they deserve.
The absence of such a space impacts everyone: the students who require extra care, their classmates whose learning is disrupted, and the dedicated staff who go above and beyond to support these children in less-than-ideal conditions.
Our Vision: The Garden Room
The proposed garden room will be a dedicated, tranquil space on school grounds, designed to support students with SEND and others who may need emotional guidance, therapeutic activities, or simply a safe place to recalibrate. In this secure, purpose-built environment, children will be able to step away from the classroom, engage in activities that help them manage their emotions, and return to learning ready to succeed. Importantly, the garden room will also serve as a place where professional therapists and support staff can work with children one-on-one, enabling them to make a lasting impact.
Beyond the School: A resource for the whole community
We’re creating more than a room for Loxwood Primary; we’re creating a community asset. After school hours, the garden room will be available for a wide range of community uses. For example, local workshops, yoga classes, mental health counselling, holiday clubs, and potentially even a local coworking hub for parents. This broader use of the room will build connections, support small businesses, and offer much-needed resources for families in our rural area.
Additionally, by opening the garden room for community use after school hours, we anticipate an opportunity to generate additional income. Any revenue raised will go directly back to Loxwood Primary School, supporting essential resources for the students and ensuring the garden room’s sustainability as a long-term asset for both the school and the community.
Funding Our Vision
To make this vision a reality, we need to raise £30,000. Thanks to a generous grant from our Parish Council, we have already secured £10,000, leaving us with £20,000 to go. With your support, we can create a safe, welcoming space that will make a profound difference for both the students at Loxwood and our entire community.
Why Your Support Matters
By donating, you’re helping us create a brighter future for Loxwood’s children—a future where each child feels safe, valued, and supported. You’ll also be contributing to a valuable community resource, one that will benefit local families and businesses for years to come. Any amount you can give will bring us closer to opening the doors of this much-needed haven.
Thank you for being part of our journey to create a space where children can grow, learn, and thrive. Together, we can make this vision a reality!
