Hi everyone, while at work on April 22nd there was an electrical fire in the building next to mine. The fire began to spread quickly within the walls and between our buildings, specifically right into my room. Because of this, the firefighters had to quickly open up my walls and my ceiling as well as hose down my entire room to stop the spread.

I am incredibly grateful that the fire was put out without any serious damage to the building itself. Most of my apartment is still in tact and livable, and my roommate, our two cats, and I are all safe. However, all my personal belongings have been destroyed. The water damage as well as the debris from the ceiling ruined almost everything I own.

I am now in the process of reconciling with the financial toll it will take to replace my things. I lost all my furniture which includes my bed frame, my mattress and my dresser. My laptop was destroyed as well as all chargers, lamps and other technology like my Nintendo Switch. I also lost important, sentimental items like my record player, my guitar, books, posters and photos.

Thank you to everyone that has already reached out and have offered their help and their emotional support to me. I am eternally grateful for you all. This next step in achieving normalcy after this event will be hard financially and any support for that would be a blessing.
