Hi My Name is Noel McInerney, I’m an award winning writer, director, and assistant director from County Clare who has been working in the Irish film industry for over six years. Alongside my on-set experience, I’ve been developing my own slate of projects, stories that mix humour and drama with an offbeat, sometimes unsettling edge.
Room for More is my latest short film.
Room for More is a darkly funny short film set in an isolated rural cottage, where two young women find themselves forced to live together by a landlord who mysteriously disappears.
Eva, an influencer chasing an image of perfection, and Rana, a sharp-witted animator with her own quirks, couldn’t be more different. What begins as an awkward house-share quickly spirals into tension, comedy, and unsettling confrontation as the women’s lives collide. With no way out and no one to turn to, their clash becomes a battle for space, identity, and survival.
At its heart this story is about displacement, the unease of being uprooted, the tension that bubbles while trying to share space, and the fragile hope of getting along. While it works as an intimate two-hander, it also reflects bigger truths in our world right now, and I believe that’s what gives it weight beyond the screen.
With your support, we can make this film to the standard it deserves, pay our cast and crew fairly, and share it with audiences at festivals and beyond. Every contribution helps bring this vision to life and builds a community that believes in bold, independent Irish film, wether you can donate big or small it all counts, and I'm extremely grateful for any penny that's given.
Thank you for taking the time to hear my story. I’d love for you to join us and help create "Room for More".
We have an incredible cast attached, with Ebimie Anthony set to play Rana and Evanne Kilgallon playing Eva, see more on their characters below.
