Hi my name is Nadine Matheson and on 1 July 2024 my parents home in Bellevue South, Carriacou, Grenada suffered devastating damage as a result of Hurricane Beryl. I was with my parents, Joslyn and Jeff Matheson, when the destructive hurricane ripped off my parents roof, blew out windows and destroyed furniture, and personal belongings. This was the most frightening experience of our lives as we barricaded ourselves in a room as the roof, doors and windows were destroyed by the 150mph winds. It’s a miracle that our home is still standing. You can see videos of the devastating damage on my social media pages. 

We’re now commencing the clear up and the slow path to recovery which is hindered by the fact that it’s also rainy season which means that there is flooding in the house. Many people have asked if they can donate to my parents I’ve set up this gofundme to help raise funds to replace my parents roof. 

My parents and I are already grateful for your kind words and support since the disaster struck. 

The cost to replace the roof is estimated at £50,000 (US$63,000) but I’ve set the target at £10,000 and the monies raised will be used towards the cost of replacing the roof. We are grateful for all donations.
