Roof Aid Needed for Altadena Fire Survivors

Well, it’s been seven weeks since our town of Altadena burnt down, and we’re still not back in the house. It has been a roller coaster ride. We are eternally grateful for all our friends who have reached out to us.

We got the news today. Our insurance company will not pay to replace our roof, even though it is now leaking when the rains come. We’ve been here almost 9 years, and there was never a leak. We have been forced to take a loan out to pay for a new roof, and it is going to be a severe burden to us financially.

Which leads me to do something that is very uncomfortable and completely out of character, and that is to ask for help.

Might you consider helping us put a roof over our heads? I don’t even know how to ask for money, but here I am in an awkward situation asking for just that.
