Roo Bublitz Memorial

On Sunday, January 9th, 2022, Andrew "Roo" Bublitz was taken into the arms of Jesus peacefully in his sleep. His passing was sudden and unexpected; and it has left all of his friends, family, and supporters shocked. Roo is the definition of a true warrior of faith and a man of God who always put his loved ones (especially his three ladies) before himself. Everyone who met him felt as if they had known him forever.
Roo was a living miracle who had walked the fine line more times than anyone should have to. Open heart surgery at 10 months old, a heart/double lung transplant in 2014, and a right lung transplant in 2021. These procedures and the many complications that come with them did not stop him from lighting up any room with his smile, humor, and sharing his passion for life. I could truly go on forever and ever about this man and all the wonderful things he did and how important he is in the lives of so many people.
While we celebrate and find peace in knowing for the first time he can experience relief and health unlike anything before, his sudden departure has left a huge hole in the lives of many. Most notably, in the lives of Erika, Emelyn, and Keziah. Roo was always his daughters' biggest fan and life will never truly be the same without him to cheer as they dance, swim, play music, and perform gymnastics.
Although Roo was always putting his family first, including making plans for his passing, the difficult reality is that he was unable to qualify for an adequate amount of life insurance (although he tried) due to being born with a medical condition, as well as his ongoing medical conditions from transplants. The loss of income, insurance, end of life costs, and other expenses weighs on his family. This fundraiser is set up for the purpose of trying to make up for what could not be attained and to cover end of life costs. Also, the hope is to give Erika and the girls more stability as they take time to grieve and navigate life without Roo.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for Spring 2022 and we will keep all who are interested up-to-date on the details.
Thank you,
Ian Roberts
