Ron's Heart Fought Hard, Help With Medical Expenses
Donation protected
I'm Ron's daughter Rachel. We're trying to raise funds for my mom to help offset the medical bills and expenses that my dad acquired, especially in his last few days. He was admitted to Jefferson Hospital on Wednesday, January 8, where he fought for every last breath until the morning of Saturday, January 11.
On Friday Jan 10 after visiting with him, he told me he wanted to rest and to go home. I went and ran some errands, and something in my gut told me that I needed to go back to visit him. When I went back, his room was empty. My heart shattered and I about fell over. Nurses rushed over to me and told me that because of his condition worsening they had to take him to the ICU. I sat and waited to be able too see him. Throughout the night his heart slowly began to fail despite every life saving measure the hospital was able to administer. We heard the words nobody wants to hear, that there was nothing else that they could do. We held my dad's hand as he took his last breaths.
Unfortunately, the hospital and doctor's offices were a frequent occurrence. My dad would always say he was born with a bad heart, but anyone that ever came in contact with him knows he had the best heart. You could always count on my dad to cheer you up with some ridiculous off-the-wall comment or joke. He held nothing back.
He was ultimately dropped by his life insurance company.
My dad was stubborn and would never ask for help. (Wonder where I get it from.) But any little bit to offset the medical and funeral expenses is so greatly appreciated. $10,000 is only a fraction of what was acquired. He wouldn't want me to post the full amount or even ask for help, but here we are.
My dad was taken from us entirely too early. He loved life. When he was healthier, he sure did live it to its fullest. Granted, he may have been dressed in some exotic animal skin boots and a leather jacket, he was always there when you needed him.
We're so thankful and appreciative of how many have reached out and been supportive in one way or another.
