Ronnie’s Stroke Recovery
Donation protected
Hello to everyone taking the time to read this and thank you so much!
On December 10th, 2017 Ronald (Ronnie) Tokarz suffered a massive left side stroke resulting the whole right side of the body paralysis. The stroke also resulted his brain to terribly bleed in multiple areas. They had to rush him to the hospital where he underwent intensive brain surgery to help stop the bleeding and swelling on his brain. Normally, I have heard they will drill into the skull- I’m sorry if that is too graphic- but they had to cut his scalp from one side to the other because of how bad the bleeding was. They did this procedure to keep him alive.
Unfortunetly at this time we don’t know what the prognosis will be, but we are all praying for a miracle that Ronnie will become his witty, loving and funny self. He has had his trials and tribulations, but that never stopped him from living life to the fullest and helping the kids at the school he works at.
Ronnie lost his beloved wife Cindy in 2006 to cancer and has been a tremendous, wonderful single dad- loving and supporting his two daughters Kaitlyn and Megan.
He is currently hooked up to a feeding tube to get the strength and nutrition his body needs. Ronnie cannot speak at this time and it is not known yet if he will be able to walk. Strokes happen in different severities and his was a very bad one. He can open his eyes, but cannot talk at this point.
However, since being transferred a step down from ICU (where he was for about 12 days) he is now in an inpatient rehab facility; there they are providing the best stroke therapy they can for him. Which in turn-God willing-he will be able to progress each day, even if it’s baby steps and heal each day! If his inpatient therapy goes well, they will then transfer him to a nursing facility providing 24/7 care.
Ronnie has a very, very long and challenging road ahead of him. He has a wonderful, loving family, friends, co-workers and students that want to see him as he was before this tragic event happened.
****Our main goal here is for Ronnie to recover and to come home and be with his family****
We would deeply appreciate anyone willing who may, to donate anything they can to help with his finances/expenses (house payment, mortgage, car payment, heat, etc.) since he is not able to do anything at this time.
***We also don’t know if he will have insurance at the end of this year- which will make everything much harder-which will be another obstacle to overcome.
We want to maintain his life outside of the hospital, so in hopes of when he comes home, he will not be in any kind of distress, so he and his family can focus on himself,’his health and road to recovery. This was such an unexpected, tragic event that happened to someone so full of life.
Again, anything is much appreciated. I know that the holidays have passed and I know we all have our own struggles in life. If you cannot donate-that is okay!!!
***Prayers mean as much as donations to the ones who know and love him.
I have created this GoFundMe because this is my best friends uncle who I have known since I was 13 as well as his two daughters and his beloved wife Cindy. He has a heart of gold and would be there in a second if you needed help. It sounds like the cliche saying, but it really is true.
Ronnie is a fighter and we know and are praying he will overcome this battle. Donations and prayers are appreciated once again!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts- on the behalf of his daughters Kaitlyn and her husband Lawrence, and Megan. His brother Eddie and sister Diane! Please share as much as you can to help reach this goal. The goal is a ball park at this point. Again and again, any bit helps, we are so. so GRATEFUL for any kind of donation! We love Ronnie and want him home and we love you for the donations and prayers! THANK YOU!
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me and I will provide as much as I know!
I will also provide any and all updates on Ronnie’s health.
God Bless & have a Happy New Year❤️
