Dear Friends, Family, and Kindhearted Supporters,
Some of you may have heard already, Ronnie Valenzuela was diagnosed with End Stage Kidney Disease. He began the long and challenging journey of finding a donor. He was placed on the transplant waitlist at the end of 2021 after starting life-saving dialysis three to four times a week at the end of 2020.
I am reaching out during an incredibly difficult time, seeking your support as we navigate an overwhelming season of hardship. This process has placed an unimaginable strain on Ronnie. He has faced physical and financial challenges, and he has never been comfortable asking people for help, financial or otherwise. I want to assist him by raising funds to help cover his treatments and essential needs not covered by his insurance. Any contribution would make a profound difference. All financial assistance will be used toward his medical needs during and post-transplant care.
Also, I wanted to add that the wait time for a deceased kidney donor on average is 5 years, so I started the donor process in 2022 and while it has been a long and tedious process, we finally received confirmation that I am a match! The kidney transplant is scheduled for October 21, 2025. I ask for prayers for both of us and that Ronnie be able to return to do all the things he loves, camping, hiking and spending time with his family.
If you would like to know more information, please reach out to Ronnie or to find out more information regarding the disease or process, please visit kidney.org.
With Love and Gratitude!
Yolanda Chavez
