Help us move from Alabama to Vermont next week!

Hi, I'm Ronnie. My girlfiend, Linny our pup, Fen and I are trying to make a big move to Vermont. I've recently been offered an opportunity to work at a gin distillery across the country which is exciting! Unfortunately, bad timing has made reaching for that opportunity difficult. I am raising funds to cover moving expenses from Alabama to Vermont.

This move is not a spur-of-the-moment decision, and we visited Vermont in November, where I was able to interview for the position. They offered it to me this week and I am thrilled to jump at the chance. Unfortunately, between the interview and getting the call back, we had some unfortunate medical issues that depleted our funds for the possible move, most notably an impacted wisdom tooth that was abscessed. Without health insurance, it has turned into an expensive ordeal.

The last few years have been a time of upheaval for a lot of us working in the service industry, and for me, it's become obvious that I have to get better access to healthcare, specifically mental healthcare. This particular opportunity would allow me to exercise my expertise in the beverage field while allowing me access to affordable healthcare and allow us to move our family to a small town where we would like to settle down and grow. This is, for us, a chance to get from surviving to thriving.

In the meantime, we are both working to supplement any funds the old-fashioned way by working and hustling as much as we can. We are even doing a yard sale.

Any funds raised would be specifically used toward this move. We are under a time crunch, as I'm expected to begin work in Vermont at the beginning of March, and our lease in Birmingham is up at the end of February. We have to get moved out, make the 1,000-mile drive and get moved in during that week.

We know it is a big ask, but if you have anything you can spare to help us make this move, we will greatly appreciate it! We've calculated that this will cost about $4,000 and any funds raised will be used for this specifically. We have the job, and apartment lined up, I just need to get the funds to get moved.
