Early in the morning on Thursday, August 19th, Ronna Edwards and her son Luke were hit head-on by a drunk driver in West Valley, Utah. A truck then hit Ronna's car from behind. While Luke has been released from the hospital with a fractured scapula, head wounds that required stapling, and various stitches and abrasions, Ronna's injuries are extensive. She has lacerations on her liver, a cracked vertebrae and pelvis, two broken arms, and multiple breaks in both of her legs, including both knees, ankles, and her left femur. The severity of some of these breaks will likely prolong the healing time and care required to help her along.
Ronna's extended family and friends, and her church congregation in California, are working hard to provide meals and support for her three children who are still in California, as well as for the immediate family members who are in Utah trying to remain by Ronna's bedside around the clock. As we anticipate that this care might stretch into weeks, if not months, we are creating this Gofundme account to help support meals and groceries for the immediate family members in both Utah and California, and travel assistance for the many family members who will be flying back and forth to help care for Ronna and her family in the months to come. The financial goal we set is based on a projected budget for the next 6 months of care.
All funds from this account will go directly to the benefit of the Edwards family and helping Ronna, and it will be administered by both Lorie Jones (sister-in-law) and RiLee McDonald (sister).
