My dad was crushed with a 6 ton rubber tracked skid steer April 7th. He was air lifted to the hospital with life threatening crush injuries, and hemorrhaging. Doctors rushed him into surgery, but did not expect him to live through the night. Despite very extensive injuries to his pelvis, bowel, bladder, hip, femur and rectum; he managed to survive. ...in spite of the numerous teams of doctors opinions. Although it is a very long, painful and complicated road ahead; we are thankful he is alive!!! But it will be at least a year before he sees his home. And my mom who is 73 years old is driving the 4-hour round trip daily to visit and reassure him and try to aid in his recovery. This is not cheap and they have bills to pay. As you can imagine after 55 years of marriage she can not just leave him to rot in the hospital alone. He is her world and she is his. Any little bit helps them. The children are committed to looking after the majority of their bills but we have families to take care of as well.
