Roni's IBD Treatment

Donation protected
My name is Rachel, and I'm raising money to get my cat treatment for her IBD.

IBD stands for Irritable Bowel Disease. It is a debilitating syndrome in which the intestinal lining becomes inflamed and the walls of the GI tract thicken, resulting in a loss of nutrients gained. This means that the animal's bathroom habits will become highly abnormal and unhealthy, resulting in severe weight loss and other problems. If left unchecked, it can cause severe health issues.
For more information on this syndrome or if you think your cat may have it as well, you can read more about this disease here:

Roni’s gastrointestinal issues have worsened over the span of a few years, her IBD being left untreated with various vets chalking up her symptoms to fleas, ticks and parasites. My instincts told me they were wrong, and at my insistence I had another vet test her for IBD which lead to her finally being diagnosed in 2020.

Unfortunately, her health is still deteriorating. At present, she no longer uses the litter box due to her inability to process nutrients properly, therefore she defecates on the spot, wherever she happens to be at the time. This has resulted in an uptick in my spending on things like disinfectant, paper towels and other household cleaning items which has added a lot of financial strain to my life without me being able to get Roni the treatment she needs; I am only able to work two days a week and my pay is only enough to cover bills and other necessities such as groceries for myself and my cat.

I am very worried for her at the moment as she has gotten to the point where she is very noticeably underweight. Under any other circumstance I would not consider starting a GoFundMe - to me, this is an act of desperation for a very sweet and loving cat that is very dear to me. Please do not donate beyond your means - even just a dollar or two would be greatly appreciated. All donations will go towards regular checkups, specialized food, medication, biopsy surgeries and long term tests.

Thanks for reading and please share this link where possible.
