Ronnie Dahlberg's New Bicycle

Many of you know Ronnie - he is an icon seen daily on Route 5 / Grant Ave., either on foot or on his bicycle.  Yesterday afternoon, Ronnie was returning home from Walmart on his bike, when a car hit him.    He was released from the hospital late last night with chest contusions and wrist pain but thankfully, no serious injuries.    However, although he is okay, his primary mode of transportation was destroyed - his bicycle.  Ronnie told me he paid $440 for this bike, years ago. 

As many of you know, Ronnie is eccentric and asks nothing of anyone.... but can often be found doing good deeds for others.   As my neighbor of 20 years, Ronnie has gotten up in the wee hours of the morning every single day and cleaned my car of snow and ice..... Not just my car though - every single neighbor near him.  

I am hoping we can raise enough funds to replace his bicycle and if there is anything remaining, it will be used to purchase a Walmart gift card and given to Ronnie, as well.   Thank you for your time and generosity.
